Music Night entitled “Wouter Kellerman in Concert”. WOUTER KELLERMAN: More than a decade after the release of his debut album, Grammy® Award winner Wouter Kellerman is recognised as one of South Africa’s foremost musicians, with an extensive, and growing, global following. Over the course of seven albums, and through many high-profile live performances and collaborations, Kellerman has steadfastly built on the rigorous classical training of his youth, to create a signature sound that’s earned him both critical praise and multiple awards.

In cooperation with the Embassy of Brazil One of the more celebrated Brazilian musicians, the saxophonist Leo Gandelman has achieved an entirely unique platform in Brazil – rare indeed to the wider world: he is worshipped by the mainstream public as well as the young and contemporary, and by the fans of MPB (a Brazilian type of music known as Brazilian Popular Music); while at the same time associating his name to the excellence and virtuosity of classical music.    

DAI in corporation with The Embassy of Switzerland invites you to a Music Night entitled “Clarinet Duet” performed by Fabio di Casola, Preslav Petkov, and Petya Mihneva. Fabio Di Casola – Clarinet In 1990, at the age of 23, Fabio Di Càsola, from Lugano, Switzerland, won the first prize of the famous CIEM in Geneva. ▪Petya Mihneva is a prize winner of the Duttweiler-Hug Competition for chamber music in Zurich and has won first prize at the “Classical and Contemporary” International Piano Competition in Bulgaria ▪Preslav Petkov is a laureate of International competitions in Bulgaria and abroad.    

DAI in corporation with the US embassy invites you to a music night with Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road. Kyle Dillingham, of Oklahoma City, started playing the violin when he was nine. He later went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in instrumental music performance from Oklahoma City University. Dillingham has taken his music to over 30 countries earning him the title of “Oklahoma’s Musical Ambassador.” Peter Markes served as director of orchestras at Edmond North High School from 2002 to 2017, and in 2014 he was named the Oklahoma Teacher of the Year, representing over 45,000 Oklahoma educators across the state.    

Karim Baggili and friends. Karim Baggili is a Belgian composer and self-taught guitarist and oud player. He performs regularly in Belgium and also abroad.Additionally he works on numerous projects as a composer or arranger for albums, documentaries short films or movies.    

“An Evening of Variety” performed by Vera Karner and Maciej Skarbek. Vera Karner is a young clarinetist and chamber musician from Austria. She has given concerts as a soloist with a number of ensembles including the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Varna State Opera and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Stara Zagora State Opera. She won several prizes at national and international music competitions, as well as awards and grants. Maciej Skarbek was born in Poland where he graduated from two music schools. He studied at the University fur Music und darstellende Kundt Vienna . He’s currently doing his Masters Degree in Vienna. He received many international awards and prizes.  …

DAI in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany presents “Piano Recital” Music Night performed by Dilyana Hristova. Coming from a family that boasts centuries of art traditions, Dilyana Hristova started playing piano at the age of 5, graduating from the oldest and most renowned musical school in Sofia, Bulgaria. She continued her studies in the Academy of dancing, music and fine arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where she studied piano, orchestral conducting and musical pedagogy. After her graduation, she taught at schools and lectured at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Veliko Tărnovo, Bulgaria    

Oriental Music Night entitled” An Evening of Arabic Music” performed by Mohammad Maqseed. The development of Arabic music has deep roots in Arabic poetry dating back to the pre-Islamic period. Arabic maqam is the system of melodic modes used in traditional Arabic music, which is mainly melodic. The word maqam in Arabic means place, location or rank.    

Music Night titled “The Jazz Piano” performed by Francesco Grillo. Considered to be one of Italy’s greatest musical talents, Francesco Grillo, eclectic pianist and composer, moves through all types of musical genre, from classical music to jazz, and from Brazilian music to his own compositions, which are influenced by a wealth of different sources.He has published recordings with the most important labels in the world. With Universal, the album Highball was entirely dedicated to the piano, where also he played at in duo with Stefano Bollani.      

In corporation with the embassy of the Republic of Brazil, you’re invited to a Music Night titled “Grupo Choro Livre” performed by Reco Do Bandolim and friends. Choro (Portuguese pronunciation: “cry” or “lament”), also popularly called chorinho (“little cry” or “little lament”), is an instrumental Brazilian popular music genre which originated in 19th century in Rio de Janeiro. Despite its name, the music often has a fast and happy rhythm. It is characterized by virtuosity, improvisation and subtle modulations, and is full of syncopation and counterpoint. Choro is considered the first characteristically Brazilian genre of urban popular music.
