Dr. Lisa Urkevich in her lecture “Khaliji: Kuwait and its role in the development of popular peninsula music”.
Dr. Lisa Urkevich is a professor of Musicology/Ethnomusicology and Chair of the Department of Music and Drama at the American University of Kuwait. Her lecture presented the early history of Gulf commercial music, major artists, folk influences, and the significant role of Kuwait in developing the new Khaliji sound.
