Professor at the Department of Archaeology at Tehran University Shahrokh Razmjou, gave a lecture on “Persepolis: the life and demise of a forgotten ancient wonder”.
His lecture focused on Persepolis, the “richest city under the sun” (according to ancientGreeks). From its construction by Darius the Great in approximately 520 BCE to its destruction by Alexander of Macedon in 330 BCE and beyond, it witnessed many kings and went through huge architectural changes.
