The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada clebrated yesterday the opening of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah( DAI) exhibition ( Emperors and Jewels: Treaures from the Indian Courts from The al-Sabah Collection. Kuwait). The opening was well attended by many people including museum officials from Houston and friends from The Louvre. The Kuwaiti representatives were headed by HE Ambassador Abdulhamid al-Failkawi. Mr. Bader al-Buaijan, Head of the Steering Committee of the Friends of DAI, gave the opening remarks on behalf of Sheikha Hussa Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, Director-General, DAI. RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) President’s Medal Exhibition & conference under auspices of British Embassy /
In collaboration with the Royal Institute of British Architecture, Pace, and Kuwait University, the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah is proud to host RIBA’s annual President’s Medals Awards exhibition for the first time in the State of Kuwait. The exhibition will be showcasing the awarded selection of international student entries in effort to promote excellence in the study of architecture. This event will be launched at the DAI Amricani Cultural Centre on April 24, 2018 and will run through to June 15, 2018.

Treasures from the Al Thani Collection
The Arab Gulf States cultural presence in China was omnipresent twice in the capital Beijing. Last year it was the exhibition ( Roads of Arabia) exhibiting a comprehensive collection from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held at the National Museum of China. On the 16th April, Beijing hosted another spectacular exhibition from the collection of Sheikh Hamad bin Abdallah Al Thani of Qatar. It opened at no less prestigious a venue, the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City. Al-Fann: Art from the Islamic Civilization from al-Sabah Collection, at the National Museum of Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain is celebrating (Al-Muharraq: Capital of the Islamic Culture 2018). The ceremony started with the Kuwait's participation in the (Al-Fann: Art from the Islamic Civilization from al-Sabah Collection). The exhibition was opened yesterday in the National Museum of Bahrain with the presence of H.H Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty king of Bahrain. She toured the exhibition with Sheikha Hussah Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah - Director General of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah. The exhibition was invited to Bahrain by H.E Sheikha Mai bint Muhammad Al-khalifah, president of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

“Post-Oil City: The History of the City’s Future”
“Post-Oil City: The History of the City’s Future” is a presentation of innovative projects in Asia, Africa, and America that address urgent questions such as how the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy will affect the process of urban planning. By contrasting 11 current projects with 9 from the past, the exhibition aims to show that many of today’s developments have their roots in the urban utopias of mid-20th-century modernism. The opening event included presentations by two leading scholars from Germany and a roundtable discussion.
