The city of Cordoba, declared a World Heritage Site in 1994, is known worldwide for its Arab-Islamic past. Monuments, such as the Mosque-Cathedral and the Madinat al-Zahra Archaeological site, bear witness to such splendour and are just a few of the outstanding of Arab architecture that have been photographed and put on display at the Dar al-Athar al-Islmiyyah’s Amricani Cultural Centre.
Eduardo Manzano Moreno, one of Spain’s leading historians specializing in the Middle Ages, with special emphasis on the Islamic period of the Iberian Peninsula, the history of al-Andalus in particular, will be joined in a discussion by Abdul Hadi al-Ajimi, Director of the History Department of Kuwait University. The discussion will prove a fascinating curtain raiser to the opening of the ‘From Qurtuba to Cordoba’ exhibition on Sunday, November 29th, starting 7pm at the Amricani Cultural Centre.
