Visiting scholar Souren Melikian studying metalwork from the Eastern Islamic lands (found in the al-Sabah Collection at Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah’s Collection Office). Dr. Assadullah Souren Melikian-Chirvani is the Emeritus Research Director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris and Research Director at the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. He is also Curatorial Director for the Aga Khan Museum and one of the world’s leading scholars of the cultural history of eastern Islamic world. He is a specialist in metalwork and Persian painting and has written many academic articles and books, most notably Islamic metalwork from the Iranian world. November 30th 2014

Final Touches on the State of the Art Theatre at Yarmouk
Today at Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in al-Yarmouk, our technical team, headed by the Assistant Secretary General for Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah at the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) Abdulkareem al-Ghadban, met with the Czech technical team (from Space Films) to put the final touches on the state of the art theatre at Yarmouk.
