A dear friend and Curator at the Hermitage Museum Dr. Anatoly Ivanov (in the middle) helped select 120 objects from the Hermitage Islamic art collection that were displayed by Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah in 1990 under the title of ‘Masterpieces of Islamic Art in the Hermitage Museum’. Accordingly, DAI sent few months later 120 pieces of the al-Sabah Collection to the Hermitage under the title ‘Islamic Art and Patronage:Treasures from Kuwait’.
