Today Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah’ Amricani Cultural Centre was visited by two distinguished guests from the State of Qatar: Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and HH Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. They were received by DAI’s Director General Sheikha Hussah Sabah Al-Salem and accompanied by the Director of Public Relations Osama al-Balhan. The guests walked thru the corridors of the historical American Mission Hospital, the first hospital in Kuwait, and toured the latest exhibitions. Both HH Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani share a passion for art, history and culture, and have their own distinctive collection of modern and contemporary art. In fact, Sheikha al-Mayassa is the Chairperson of Qatar Museums.
