Nur (Arabic meaning light) often refers to both the physical and metaphysical aspect of light. Conceptually, light is the core component of faith and spiritual illumination; as a result the application of Nur has been carried out in many different fields but especially in architecture. In an architectural space, Nur brings order and structure both physically and virtually. Nur has had many influences in our work. Through The New Life of Nur we will illustrate how we have been experimenting with light over the past 10 years in order to create dynamic spaces that reflect our collective traditions.
