the national research alliance ILLICID and
of “museum4punkt0 – Digital Strategies for the Museum of the Future” under the auspices of the Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media. Why Culture Matters: The impact of culture and cultural heritage on societal challenges and sustainable development
There is a growing awareness with groups on national and international levels that the impact of cultural practice and cultural heritage reaches far beyond the realm of culture. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (UN) notes “that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development”. This lecture explores how this impacts societal challenges and how this impact can be assessed or measured.
