Music Night entitled “Revolutionized Kuwaiti Folklore” by Zahed Sultan.
Zahed has taken keen interest in traditional pearl-diving music from the Arabian Gulf from a young age. Through Hiwar (Arabic for Dialogue), Zahed focuses on preserving the essence of the culture whilst re-presenting it in a contemporary, evolved way through re-imagining its forms by using audio, video, and dance. Hiwar aimed to spark an inter-generational dialogue through multimedia performance that speaks to today’s youth and engages audiences internationally.
