Umm Kulthum was an Egyptian singer and film actress active from the 1920s to the 1970s. She was given the honorific title Kawkab al-Sharq. Umm Kulthum was known for her vocal ability and unique style. She has 320 songs and her song “al-Atlal” is considered one of the best 100 songs in the 20th century.
