New York City , Tuesday 8th will be the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) Board of Trustees meeting. Sheikha Hussah Al- Sabah, as an honorary trustee will attend the meeting along with some of the most influential political, financial and cultural figures of the world. She is the only Arab person on the board and her presence in the meeting is a great recognition of Kuwait’s status, in which DAI is representative of being one of the world’s distiguished custodians of art and culture.
During her visit to NYC, Sheikha Hussah had the chance to have a sneak preview of the new MET project, the conversion of the old Whitney Museum into Breuer MET Museum where there was a fabulous exhibition on (Unfinished Thoughts Left Visible) and an exhibition of Nasreen Mohamedi. Both exhibitions will have their official opening on 18th March.
Sheikha Hussah will also meet with the President of the Met, Mr. Dan Weiss and Sheila Canby, the Patti Cadby Birch Curator in Charge of the Museum’s Department of Islamic Art.
