On this day in history, 16 December 1653 – Oliver Cromwell became Lord Protector of England, Scotland, and Ireland. However fun was alive before then, with Thomas Ravenscroft penning the lines;
Nose, nose, nose, nose and who gave you that jolly red nose?
Cinnamon and ginger, nutmeg and cloves
And that gave me my jolly red nose!
Words you can hear sung today at Yarmouk Cultural Centre, 7pm. With Emma Dunnell and Oana Severin, Dan Massoth and Richard Bushman.
