Dr. Mokhlid al-Zayyoudi’s Lecture  on “Arabic T.V. Drama after 9/11 and its Role in Heightening Suspicion and Bitterness Towards Arabic and Islamic Culture”.

Dr. Mokhlid al-Zayyoudi holds a PhD in Drama from University of Exeter in UK. He chaired the department of Drama in Yarmouk University in Jordan, and currently is Associate Professor at the same university. He wrote many plays such as “Hukoma 5 Nojoom” (Five Stars Government), and “Ashatter Yehki” (The clever talks). He also published several researches, supervised academic dissertations, and has participated in many conferences and seminars, locally and internationally.

In his lecture, Dr. al-Zayyoudi  focused on the wake of the second Gulf War and the acceleration of chaotic events leading to 9/11 aftermaths, which “al-Qaeda” claimed responsibility and declared war on the West, which in turn declared war on terrorism. TV production companies in the Arab world hit upon the new subject of extremism and the war between Islamic groups and the West as an exciting and lucrative subject that can generate profit.
